Whew! Yesterday's States competition was exhausting! We arrived around 7:15 to setup and didn't leave until 5:15, a full 10 hours later. We definitely did the best we could at States. In Robot Game, we ranked 14th out of 84 teams with a high score of 319. After a small misunderstanding with judging, we performed pretty well in Core Values, Robot Technical and Project, but the scores have yet to come in. In the lightning rounds, we were allied with the Wilson Wildcats and we managed to advance to the third round before being eliminated. Although we ended up not winning any awards, it was an amazing experience and we learned a lot from what other teams had done.
It's been a whirlwind of activity for the last few weeks as we frantically get ready for States. MIK3Y R3B0RN has been vastly improved thanks to the hard work of Jackson and Dennis and our maximum possible score is 353. A robot packet has also been put together describing our attachments, strategy and design process. In Project, the Tech Squad's after school seminars have been helping a few teachers with some questions they had. We've also put together a packet about how to start a Tech Squad with all our documents. Our board was finished as well and it looks great!
We're ready to go to States tomorrow at WPI to do the best we can and see what amazing things other teams have accomplished! Let's go Crocobots! |
